Heatree Highlights
What a very special time was had by all at our church weekend away in Heatree House on Dartmoor. With few scheduled meetings it was great to be able to have the time to make new friends and linger over coffee with old ones. All the time there was the backcloth of spectacular scenery and bright sunshine.
For those of you who went there will be many memories, here are a few of mine:
Little Evie standing on a chair and saying ‘grace’;
Waking up to snow on the first morning;
Moorland walks;
Testimonies from Peter, Philly and Emily of how God has changed and blessed them;
Dave & Pat’s duet;
Igor the Russian levitation-ist and his pole-dancing assistant;
Captain Beaky and his bumbling crew;
And who was Fanny Bright?
A Sunday roast dinner to die for;
And so many more!!
The words of Psalm 133 rang true:
How wonderful, how beautiful,
when brothers and sisters get along! It’s like costly anointing oil flowing down....
Yes, that’s where God commands the blessing, and ordains eternal life.
Jane and I have booked our place for next year – we wouldn’t miss it for the world!
